Position Summary

The Marketing Manager will report to the CCO of the company, and be based in our Puerto Rico office. The reporting structure of this role is designed to empower manager to have the authority and responsibility to be singularly accountable for delivering the product marketing roadmap, positioning the brand, products, and company, and building the marketing organization to generate incremental sales and drive profitable, sustainable growth. 

Working with functional sales, marketing and account management assets, the Marketing Manager will develop the marketing function from the ground up and create a strong marketing culture that is aligned to the vison of the CCO. In addition, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for creating the marketing infrastructure and diligence to drive repeatable and sustainable growth, including setting an optimized go-to-market product marketing strategy, leveraging CRM tools and analytics, and establishing KPI’s and dashboards to track performance, measure success and deploy necessary corrective actions.

Marketing Manager Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to develop and manage marketing programs in specific channels, support business objectives, lead customer acquisition, foster client retention, execute business development programs, provide sales support, and advance brand building.  Individual must be well aligned to the organization’s culture and values, which emphasize integrity, courage, intellectual curiosity and humility.

Responsibilities for Marketing Manager:

  • Build marketing programs to support specific marketing objectives across different channels and segments in support of our overall strategic marketing plan.
  • Develop concepts, implement marketing plans, and document the road map, resources, and budget required to achieve goals. Design and manage time frames for accomplishing goals, monitoring milestones, and driving marketing plans to fruition.
  • Market through various channels and segment databases working with large data sets.
  • Develop business cases for marketing programs at the proposal stage and make recommendations on marketing tactics.
  • Craft user strategies, from positioning and planning, to increase our customer base and client engagement.
  • Create the strategy to engage consumers through online and eMarketing channels, conversion-driven marketing including, but not limited to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), online affiliates, mobile, display marketing, social media, digital advertising, email marketing, user experience and emerging online channels.
  • Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration with the stakeholders and leveraging the right internal processes.
  • Develop marketing strategy by studying economic indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers and their current and future needs, and monitoring the competition.
  • Build the communications plans to drive awareness and adoption of products and features.
  • Monitor, review and report on all marketing activities and results. Evaluate marketing performance using relevant metrics and user feedback.
  • Systematically gather, analyze, and report current market conditions and competitors’ information.
  • Propose and manage marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of improved marketing strategy and communications.
  • Periodically conduct customer and market research to identify opportunities for existing and future channels of distribution at existing and new markets.
  • Collaborate with the sales and executive team to establish goals and metrics for success.
  • Gatekeep and protect logos, brand, and corporate image.
  • Work closely with other functional teams to ensure efforts are successfully executed from start to finish.
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies, and vendors.
  • Evaluate the impact of marketing programs in achieving their stated objectives, including impact on lead flow and retention.
  • Develop marketing plans and programs for each product and directing promotional support.
  • Maintain relations with customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations programs and determining company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.
  • Provide short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
  • Influence present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.
  • Develop new uses for existing products by analyzing statistics regarding market development; acquiring and analyzing data; and consulting with internal and external sources.
  • Maintain research database by identifying and assembling marketing information.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Continually refine skills and expertise to stay ahead of the demands of role.
  • Use innovation, creativity, process, and entrepreneurialism in every interaction, both externally and internally.

Qualifications for Marketing Manager:

  • Proven strategic thinker with strong marketing and business development skills in digital and traditional marketing strategies.  
  • Must have digital media expertise and be social media savvy.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
  • Tangible track record of success in managing marketing operations, including product marketing and sales generating plans and strategies.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and developing digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate response.
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels.
  • Experience building complex marketing programs and reporting on results.
  • Understanding of marketing and marketing processes; adept at managing marketing agencies & third-party suppliers.
  • Understanding of foundational sales/marketing tools (e.g. SalesForce), processes and analytics to drive evidence-based planning and decision-making.
  • Strong experience setting marketing driven KPI’s, metrics and dashboards.
  • Must be able to deal with ambiguity, act with minimal supervision, identify the big picture, understand the challenges and act with clarity and sense of purpose.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.  Ability to influence without direct supervision of stakeholders.
  • Innate and well-developed team orientation; strong sense of responsibility, accountability, reliability, and commitment of self and others.
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience using common business productivity applications and tools (Microsoft Office 365, NetSuite, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Marketo, WebTrends, etc.)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on major search engines.
  • 8+ years of increasingly responsible career trajectory in sales and marketing, marketing management, product management, product development and/or similar roles
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability to develop content for website, emails, landing pages, etc.
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Experience in software technology a plus but not mandatory
